I am a recent graduate from the University of Texas at Austin. My undergraduate major was Public Health with a concentration in Infectious Diseases. After graduating, I joined M.D. Anderson Cancer Center - General Internal Medicine Department as a research intern. My main project was to establish a physician's typical workflow. During this time, I was exposed to the concepts of informatics, especially EHRs and quality control. I was able to closely observe the importance of informatics and EHR in particular, to formulating a treatment plan for the patient. After I finished my internship, I decided I wanted to know more about the Informatics field and am currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Health Informatics.
