eCHN is a pediatric EMR and HIE developed in 1999 by the province of Ontario, Canada and The Hospital for Sick Children of Toronto, Ontario. "eCHN was Canada's first integrated electronic health record solution and is currently the largest province-wide network of its kind in Canada." At launch, it served 5 hospital sites, today it serves 100 hospital sites and houses more than one million patient records. Principal developers include Andrew Szende and Brendan Gibney [2].
