Generally Electronic Medical Records can mean almost anything that tracks health related data per patient. It is much more difficult to say what is a good electronic medical record. Almost any vendor will describe their medical record as innovative, or next-generation. It can be difficult to sort out how much of this is true because there is currently no good measuring stick for EMRs.
