1. Centrality of Processes: Delivering quality health care is a process, and improving that process should guide all IT efforts. Computer applications add value only to the degree that they enable processes of care delivery, such as by integrating useful decision support at the point of care. The ability to track and measure processes is necessary to assess the value derived from adding IT to a process.
