Meditech Mission statement

MEDITECH's mission is to provide software that enables physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to orchestrate and deliver patient care in a safe, effective, and efficient manner. Our software is integrated in a manner that fully optimizes the financial and business potential of the health care enterprise. [1]

MUMPS, MIIS, and MAGIC

MUMPS was ANSI and ISO standardized, and served as a basis for MIIS development. In 1977, development started on MAGIC, the successor to MIIS, and development was finished in 1979 [1]. While MUMPS (also known as M) is widely used in health care and financial business software, MIIS and MAGIC remained IP of MEDITECH, and are not marketed outside of the company [2].

Meditech Pharmacy Solutions

The Meditech pharmacy software provides a comprehensive solution for order entry of both oral and IV medications. The software is well equipped with tools for drug utilization review, decision support, intelligent warnings, messages and rejection notices that help reduce clinical and order entry errors to ensure patient safety and accuracy. With the Meditech pharmacy solutions, the user has access to all relevant data and enterprise-wide clinical information from a single, centralized processing screen and is able to document clinical interventions, generate reports and other statistics. The system is integrated and linked to automatic dispensing cabinets while monitoring and maintaining proper inventory levels. Inventory is controlled by minimizing lost revenue using the option to charge on administration. Overall the software is user-friendly, efficient and meets the standards of Meaningful Use and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009(ARRA).

Meditech Patient Portal

Patient Portal is a one of the requirements needed to reach Meaningful Use(MU)status. Meditech also has given hospitals, providers and patient this very option as well. This feature allows patients and their providers to be interactive, whether it be to view labs or ask for a refill a prescription Meditech has made this possible. Patients can do this safely and securely from their comfort of their homes. [2]
