Veena was born and raised in Canada, attended medical school in Arizona, and completed pediatric residency at Stanford in 2013. In July 2013, she became the first fellow in Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) at Stanford. Her scholarship focuses on improving bedside monitor alarm fatigue, which was recently declared a National Patient Safety Goal by the Joint Commission. In this work, she is leveraging a unique data set at Stanford Children's. Veena also became one of the inaugural fellows in Clinical Informatics (CI) at Stanford Children's and is currently working to simultaneously complete both the CI and PHM fellowships by the end of June 2016.
