I was born and raised in Italy. After graduating from Medical school and completing a residency in Urology I moved to the US to pursue a more specialized surgical training. Here I trained as a urogynecologist and pelvic surgeon and practiced for several years in academic institutions like The State University of New York, Columbia University and the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. I then decided to pursue a career in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, moved to San Diego where I completed a fellowship and practiced at San Diego Hospice and at the University of California, San Diego. I am currently medical director of Palliative Care Services at Marin General Hospital in Marin County, California. I am very interested in Biomedical Informatics and am a student in the Certificate Program at OHSU. I enjoy sailing, hiking and bicycling.
