Some organizations are dealing with CPOE resistant physicians by offering them a "computer scribe" service that they must pay for. This service provides them with someone dedicated to rounding with them with a tablet PC or Computer on Wheels (COW) who puts in their orders while they are present (the physician must be present to respond to alerts, etc). The physician can continue paying for the scribe service as long as they would like but the scribes also offer personalized training. This is how one community hospital was able to agree to the goal of 100% CPOE and also provide the safety features of CPOE as well as keep the nursing staff happy (they REALLY didn't want to have a dual system of paper and electronic orders after go live).

Does anyone else have any experience doing this?
