Evidence-Based Clinical Guidelines
Decision support incorporated into a clinical information system must be evidence-based and tailored to the needs of the individual users, whether they are primary care physicians or hospital intensivists, pediatricians or psychiatrists.
The following web pages contain evidence-based clinical guidelines as defined by leading medical organizations of the United States. These or other evidence-based guidelines must be used when defining the rules and algorithms of a Clinical Decision Support system.
