McKesson Practice Partner is CCHIT 2011 certified electronic health record and billing software developed by McKesson Provider Technologies.

History

McKesson's history dates back to the beginnings of organized health care in the United States. The company was founded in 1833 by John McKesson and Charles Olcott in New York City which was focused on the importing and wholesaling of therapeutic drugs and chemical forms from its origin. McKesson has a long history in healthcare.

In 1999, McKesson Corporation and HBO & Company, Inc. merged to form McKesson HBOC, Inc. In 2004, McKesson Information Solutions and McKesson Automation were reconfigured, resulting in the creation of the McKesson Provider Technologies. The corporate head office is located in San Francisco, CA. McKesson Practice Partner helps practices of all sizes and the typical settings in which this EHR is used are Academic Medical Center (AMC)/Medical School, Private Ambulatory Care Office, Community Health Center/Clinic, Multispecialty Clinic etc. The applications were developed by C/C++ and Visual Studio 6 (both VB and C++) and some C# Net, plus ASP.Net, XML and other Web technologies [1]

There are three applications of McKesson Practice Partner which can be obtained separately or together.Three applications are:

Practice Partner Patient Records

provides tools to improve both clinical and office efficacy and thereby improving the quality of care. The important part of McKesson Practice Partner patient Records is the Bright Note Technology that allows physicians and other providers to use their preferred charting style to capture data in a single screen note.
