To prevent duplication of medication entry when modification is made, the old dose is automatically discontinued

If modification is made after medication serving time, an option/prompt to include an entry for nurses to serve a STAT dose of the new entry will be initiated. Doctor's reflex action is to click proceed, hence dosing patient more than the intended modified dose e.g. old dose of 5mg modified to 10mg and total dose served would be 15mg (5mg served previously plus 10mg as STAT dose).
